Why I Attend the eWomenNetwork Conference Every Year
Once again, the International eWomenNetwork conference was not only fun and exciting, it was a critical weekend where I worked on my business and made connections I can’t make anywhere else. This year, I set my intentions on having fun and meeting one key person that could help me in my business and really helping one person in theirs. My intention came through magnified to the Nth degree.
It was so much fun to learn, play and talk business all at the same time. It was an investment into my business and into my future and I’m delighted to share a few highlights here of one of my favorite events:
- Sitting down and having drinks one-on-one with Loral Langemeier at the bar until the wee hours of the morning was amazing. What I learned from her about wealth building is beyond what I could say here in this blog post. If you haven’t met her yet, she’s on a tour right now and if you’re in Columbus, plan to attend the eWomenNetwork meeting in October to hear her speak. Run, don’t walk.
- I met and talked with Barbara Niven several times, who is one of Hollywood’s hardest working actresses and is now helping others to connect with their ideal clients through video. She’s amazing! We are talking about a partnership now in my new program called The National Raise Your Celebrity Profile™ Success Circle. I’m not sure who is more excited, her or me. But I think it’s me! (Did I mention she’s amazing –she received a standing ovation at her breakout session and is a master at connecting from the heart.)
- I was invited to sit at the front of the room in the coveted “Reserved” tables by two prominent businesses – Live Out Loud and Diva Toolbox. I’m big on having experiences that expand how you think of yourself because it’s like food for your spirit. Sitting with these powerful women and just steps away from Zig Ziglar was one such experience.
- I specifically wanted to meet Shama Kabani of The Marketing Zen Group and Jennifer Bourn of Bourn Creative. Wouldn’t you know that in this conference of thousands of women, I happened to sit right next to Shama for lunch one day and at the same table as Jennifer Bourne for a “Wisdom Table” session? Two great examples of the power of setting intentions.
The speakers there were engaging and informative. Some were soft and gentle. Others were more in your face in a compassionately tough way. Both styles work for me. Kudos to eWomenNetwork for having a variety of speakers, topics and speaker styles there for us.
Here are just a few of the quotes from some of the speakers that were meaningful to me:
“Chase the vision, not the money.” Tony Hsieh – CEO of Zappos.com
“We are a service company who happens to sell shoes.” Tony Hsieh – CEO of Zappos.com
SIDE NOTE: This reminds me of Hash House Harriers : “We’re a drinking group with a running problem.”
“It both excites and scares me to step out of my comfort zone.” Pam Davis Bush
“No one makes it alone.” Sandra Yancey
“Do not allow anything or anyone negative to live rent free in your mind.” -Linda Clemons
“You should, not ‘can,’ be anything you want to be. – Debbie Meyer
“The more you learn about anything, the more creative you can be about everything.” -Zig Ziglar
“A dream is a fantasy with a strategy.” -Marcia Weider
“There are no new messages, only new messengers.” -Peggy McColl
Just an observation: Pretty much everyone agrees that their family members don’t understand what they do.
Congratulations to eWomenNetwork on your 10th anniversary. I’m looking forward to the next decade.
