You Need to be Sharing Your Content!
If you’re trying to build awareness for your brand, generate leads, acquire new customers or keep the ones you have (hint: I’m speaking to all of you), one of the most important things you can do is to share content with your audience. Content marketing—defined by Mashable.com as “spreading unique, helpful bits within the industry or with consumers”—is becoming an increasingly effective way to connect with current and potential customers in a way that simultaneously provides value to them and credibility to yourself.
Big businesses like Coca-Cola, Mint.com and American Express are actively engaging in content marketing, but businesses of any size can benefit from sharing content. And here’s the great news. Chances are good that you’re already doing it, too. If you are writing a blog, actively participating in social media, publishing articles, writing an ezine, posting to YouTube or speaking at live events, you’re already sharing content. And if you’re not doing any of these things yet, it’s not too late to start. The key is to share small pieces of valuable content on a regular basis.

Now let us know, what are you doing (or going to start doing) to share your content with the world?

Great post. I agree that content sharing is becoming very important for businsses. You have given some great examples of B2C companies like Coca Cola and American Express. Wouldn’t you agree that content sharing would work really well for B2B businesses and professionals as well?
Absolutely. Everyone should be creating and sharing content, no matter who your target audience is. Just make sure what you’re sharing is valuable and, as Meredith recently pointed out, you’re sharing your own point of view. Sharing your opinion is what really gives you a chance to stand out.
